Hello out there in the wide world of the internet. How goes it? After days and days of staring at other blog posts and sites about nail polish and what they have been doing, I decided to get myself going.
I have only recently developed a love for nail polish. I was never drawn towards it growing up and even as of this year never used it other than for special occasions. But here I am starting a blog to talk about nail polish and to show off my own creations.
I love to change the color of my manicure probably about twice a week. My job entails me using my hands a lot so most of the time Sunday's manicure is ripped up by Monday afternoon. So Sunday gets a simple creation but come Wednesday or Thursday I love to have fun and play around. So without further ado...here we go.
First thing you should know, I always start with Bonder base coat by Orly. I LOVE it. Not only do I feel my manicures last longer but it makes dark polish come off like a dream, little to no staining on your fingers or finger nails.
I was playing around today and I knew I wanted to use my China Glaze, Up All Night. It is a deep navy with subtle shimmer to it. It was one of the first China Glaze polishes I ever purchased. To add more to it, as well as use something new, I put a layer of Nails Inc. Electric Lane Holographic Topcoat over top. Then followed with Orly No Chip topcoat to add more shine.
This was taken inside. I felt that the holo didn't translate that well, so I headed outside for the next two pictures.
China Glaze - Up All Night, 2 layers
Nails Inc. - Electric Lane Holographic Topcoat, 1 layer
Nails Inc. - Electric Lane Holographic Topcoat, 1 layer
I wish that the blue translated better overall. The last picture you can tell it is blue but not that much. It is a dark color and best used by itself. Not a bad first post. Next time I will try to keep it short and sweet. Nothing guaranteed.
xoxo MD
